The children will start at the beginning of their safe zone ask “What time is it Hungry Fox?” Whatever time Hungry Fox says the children will take that number of steps towards Hungry Fox, leaving their safe zone. If Hungry Fox says “its lunch time” the children must run back to their safe zone without getting tagged.

One player is chosen to be the Fox, and faces away from the rest of the players. You might want to ask the older kids to take turns to play the Fox to make it as fair a game as possible. The other players sneak up gradually on the Fox and aim to touch their back before the Fox turns around to catch them.
